Outstanding Local Leaders have achieved a significant level, scope, reach, and impact of accomplishments in their local communities while showcasing character and maintaining a high ethical standard.
Outstanding Texas Leader
The Outstanding Texas Leader embodies the leadership spirit of John Ben Shepperd, who believed that all Texans have a responsibility to serve their state. Outstanding Texas Leaders have made significant statewide contributions while exhibiting character and a high standard of ethics.
Shepperd Pathfinder
The Shepperd Pathfinder award was introduced in 2014 to recognize young professionals 40 years old or younger. This award celebrates John Ben Shepperd’s belief that young professionals must “get off the sidelines” and contribute early in their careers. Shepperd Pathfinders have made significant contributions at the local, regional, or state level while displaying character and high ethical standards.
Shepperd Trailblazer
The Shepperd Trailblazer Award was introduced in 2014 to recognizing young Texans in their Junior or Senior year of high school. This award honors John Ben Shepperd’s believed that young people should engage in their communities to be responsible, knowledgeable, and committed citizens. Shepperd Trailblazers have made meaningful contributions in their high school or community and have exhibited character and a high standard of ethics.
